Laline- Body Scrub and Whipped Body Soap

Has been going into Laline store for quite a while but never get around to try their products until today. I have been looking around for a body scrub. So the first thing I look for is a body scrub when I entered. A friendly salesgirl approached me and offered to try it for me.

Their body scrub contains soy oil, almond oil, macadamia oil, sea salts and citric oils. All are very natural ingredients so I decided to give it a try. There are a few fragrances too. I was told Ocean is the most popular one so I tried that too. On first try on my hand, my hand became smooth and bright after the scrub. (To be frank, which scrub don't? Haa) But the extra benefits of this scrub is it is mild and I do not feel any rubbing effects as my hand is scrub.

My 2 gals were with me and they were so keen to try. So the friendly salesgirl try with them a whipped body soap which is mild enough for young children. I thought it was pretty cute as it looked like whipped cream! My gals love it very much because it was so cute.

As they were having a sales by 2 items going fo 15% discount, I decided to buy these 2 products.

Tried the body scrub the moment I reached home. Love the refreshing fragrance and the mild effect of the scrub. My body do not have reddness after using it. Some scrub does leave me having red patches as I got exremely sensitive skin. 1 hour after using it, I still feel very fresh. :)

Xmas is here! - Shu Umera Christmas Collection

Every Christmas, I look forward to Christmas collection comestic from various brands as it is usually quite unique and since it is Christmas collection, it is only available for a short period of time. All along, I find Shu Umera Collection extremely attractive.

And I am right that this year, they got a very unique collection again. It is a Japanese Doll! Especially designed by a famous designer (forgot his name) for the founder of Shu Umera who is a very close friend of his. I thought this big eyes doll looks really cute and nice.

However, I have so many eye shadows at hand that I decided to give eye shadow a pass this round and go for their makeup base instead and I really love the free gifts this round especially the red pounch!

Milia Seeds Extraction

After delaying this procedure for so long, I had finally plucked up my courage and get it done once and for all! I am getting tired of hearing people said I got so many "dots" under my eyes. I had enquired with several doctors but never get around to get it done until I met up with Dr Karen Soh of Prive Clinic. Possibly it is just my fate with her. I will be talking about the procedures and my recovery process in this single blog so this will be a very long one.

My milia seeds are quite a lot and it all "gathered" together at 1 area under my eyes, making it really unsightly. It is not just one or two, but more than 10! I was really nervous before the procedures as it is considered a minor surgery. I was told that I would be applied a cream to numb any pain and if needed I would be given jab if the cream is not enough to numb the pain.

My pain torture level is actually quite high so in the end, I didn't use any jabs at all which Dr Soh said it is better. Well, I wouldn't say it was painful at all. It was painful but I can bear with it. It is really nice to have Grace (Dr Soh's assistant) to comfort me throughout the whole procedure.

I was given a healing cream and anti-biotic by Dr Soh which I was told to apply everyday until the skin peeled off. I was told I got to let it peeled off itself and never go and remove it myself. I have to go back for review 2 weeks later.

I was also recommended eyes mask to aid the recovery.

Recovery process
(I only took picture of my right eyes as most of the milia seeds are on right eyes. There are a few but not much on my left eyes. Dr Soh removed both sides)

Day 1 :  My eyes was rather swollen after the whole thing so I got to wear sunglasses to cover it up. But overall still okay.

Day 2 :  I felt quite a fair bit of pain throughout the whole day and my eyes are really swollen. There are many "holes" and no amount of makeup could cover them! (Didn' remember to take pictures today)

Day 3 : The pain and swollen subsidied but "ugly", red marks has appeared and there are still "holes". (Sad... but I knew it is only temporary)

Day 4 : No more pain and swollen! The red marks has dried up and some has started to peel off and much lesser "holes"

Day 5 : I looked so much better today! :D All the marks are now dried up and a lot of them had dropped off by evening time. There is no obvious "holes" today. Today I can use some makeup. Started to feel so much happier.

Day 6 : Much much better today. The clinic assistant was right that it takes a week for me to look "normal" again. Most of the dried skn has dropped by. There are still some pinkish dots, but it is much better than those days wih milia seeds. Look forward to looking better.

From Day 7 onwards, the dry skin had peeled off totally and I am back to my normal. However, my milia seeds was not fully removed and I went for a touch up with Dr Soh.

And after the 2nd round of touchup, I can no longer see milia seeds! So happy with the result!

Note: This procedure was done about 1 month ago but I only posted now so that I can blog about the recovery process.

Exercise : Nike We Run SG 10K 2012

As it was raining on dogs and cats yesterday, I was kind of worried that we might not be able to run! But I guess we were very lucky that the rain came at and stop at the right time today for us to be able to complete the run.

Many people complained about the t-shirts provided by Nike this round, saying the size is too small, the material is too hot. But I love this t-shirt. I thought it was well cut and material is definitely okay. I guess everyone got different expectation. There are so many runners to this run, how can Nike make everyone happy? Nevertheless, I got to say I am the happy one.

The route this round was okay for me. I am starting to feel "seasoned" to 10km runs these few sessions. Previously, I would feel a drag and 10km seemed such a long distance. In the last three 10km I took part in, I started to feel at ease with the distance and I do not feel like I am doing a "tough" job. I guess my body has already got used to the distance. :) And in fact, there is also a good improvement to my running time. Compare to my runs in May, I had improved by 10 mins which is really a good achievement.

I must say the new Skechers shoes help me a lot! Remember I posted about my new shoes here? My sole is not painful nor tired after the run and I credited it to this pair of shoes as I remember I still feel painful under my sole when I used my old pair of shoes in my August 10km run. Most important, it is so light weight that I felt extremely comfortable when I wore it. Really love this shoes! :) Possibly light weighted shoes from other brands also can helped as much. I had heard from my friends that Nike also has light weighted shoes which are good.

And oh yes, Nike gave a very nice lime green finisher t-shirts to all participants who completed the run. This is my first finisher t-shirt as most organiser would only give finisher t-shirt to 42km runners.

I enjoyed my run extremely today and looked forward to my next one on 11 November :)

Review : Ikeda Spa Albion Corrective Facial

Finally today is my appointment with Ikeda Spa. They have this promotion if you like their facebook, you can get to enjoy Albion Corrective Facial @ $48. One of my friend has been raving about this spa and had recommend to me a few times but I never get around to try it.

Decided to give a try since they are having a good promotion. I felt as if I am stepping into a Japanese House as I entered the spa. The staff are all friendly and greeted me with a smile. They were on time too to start my facial exactly at 6pm. Of course, I also arrived 15 mins earlier so it gave them the chance to get registration and such done beforehand.

My therapist (I forgot to note down her name) went through a survey with me before starting the facial with me. Given my own experience with my skin, I knew what is my problem and such so I am able to share with her my needs.

I was then brought into the facial room which was cozy though a bit small. The facial lasted for 1 hour which is a bit short for me as I always did 1hr 30 mins facial. The therapist cleansed my face, did some massage, extraction and ended everything with a mask. The therapist's extraction skill is good as it wasn't painful at all and after the facial, I do not see any reddish or ugly dot on my face. Her massage skill is light and in my view average.

Accordingly to their website, this facial is "a deep cleansing and exfoliating facial treatment finished with Japan No. 1 top-selling Albion Skin Conditioner mask to energise skin, leaving it healthier, brighter and cleaner."

I do feel my face is much cleaner and brighter after the facial. :) What I like most is the therapist applied a orange flavor lip balm on mylip twice during the facial. This is something unique. This made my lip feel moist and relaxing ( I felt as if I am eating an orange!)

Overall, it is a good experience. After facial, we are treated to a nice cup of Japanese tea and biscuits! :)

If you are keen, do visit their website. This promotion is still on from what I see and they have time to time promotion for 1st time customer. :)

About Bellabox

It seems that most beauty gura bloggers are aware of Bellabox. I happened to chance on it while reading several blogs of beauty gura bloggers and started to find out more about this.

So what is Bellabox? Basically you just need to become their member and every month they will send to you a box with 5 beauty product samples which will be customised to your needs and after trying, you can buy from them online or from retailers. It is that simple :) It is really good for people like me who like to try out new products.

I am truly impressed with their packaging! It is like receiving a present :) I received the October box today and guess what I received?

1) Guerlain Kobe Noire Parfume
2) Nuxe Face and Body Ultra Rich Cleansing Gel
3) Nuxe Multi Usage Dry Oil
4) Nuxe 24 Hr Moisturing Body Lotion
5) Bioderma Solution Micellaire

And oh yes with a foldable compact mirror from Bellabox which I like a lot because it is pink. :)

I am happy as item 2 to 5, I will not buy them to try out myself if not for Bellabox  as I am  not familiar these brands and I do not know where to buy although I roughly recall seeing Nuxe in Robinsion.

Shall try them out and feedback!

Review : Skechers Gotrain Running Shoes

It had been a busy September that I haven't been writing this blog for a few weeks and I missed it badly.

Finally today got the time to come in to do some updating. This is my latest best buy which I thought I should share! I got this at 20% discount and really love this of shoes as it is so light and make it much easier for me to run. And I found one with my 2 favourite colours, pink and black! :)

My old pair of running shoes from Nike provided extremely good cushion and support for me but after sometimes especially for running more than 10km, I felt the shoes are too heavy for my feet that it seem like dragging my feet especially after running for sometimes and it made my feet really tired. I discussed with my running colleagues about my problem and they suggested I should go for lighter shoes for I am a very "light" runner too. My pace is very light and easy as I am a very relaxed jogger.

The moment I put on this pair of shoes, I feel like I can "fly" as it is so light compared to my previous one. I did my first 5km with the new shoes and clock in a better timing. I believe it is because the shoes is so light that I didn't feel any pressure as I run so I am able to run faster and better. :)

Let see what is my new record for 10km on 21 Oct Nike Run :)

Review : Fancl Overnight Hydrating Mask

This is a slightly overdue post as I forgot all about this even though I have been using it for about a month. After trying out the sample as I had posted here, I decided to get a full size one to try out. My first try of the mask was my face wasn't as tight as before. This mask is to be apply after your usual moisturiser. Usually after applying moisturiser, my face will feel a bit tight and uneasy. But with this mask, it actually get rid of the tightness and uneasy feeling.

I started to see effect recently that after washing my face in the morning, my face is still very hydrated and nice. I love this product except one bad news, it is a limited edition product so that means it may not be around for long. This is the reason why I was hesitating to try initially. But anyway since it was good, I decided to buy another 2 more bottles to keep. Hopefully by then, my skin is more hydrated and I can find other alternative should I can't find this product anymore.

Another thing I like about this product is the nice blue bottle :D

Product: Fancl Overnight Hydrating Mask
Price : $56
Note : As like any other Fancl products, once open you got to finish the mask in 60 days.

Review : Shu Uemura Point Concealer

I have been using Shu Uemura Eye Correcting Pro Concealer for more than 5 years! I love this product! I started using this product when a beautician at Shu Uemura told me that this concealer will make my eye makeup looks nicer and will last longer. And really it does so I faithfully used this product and it can even covered up my milia seeds slightly.

So I was so disappointed when I went to the Metro sales with the intention to top up this product only to hear that they have phased it out! I was so lost when I was told it is no longer available for sales. So I asked the beautician if there is any alternative to this product and was showed a concealer meant for whole face instead. When I told the staff that I have been using the eye concealer for years to make my eye makeup last longer, they were puzzled and told me that concealer is meant to cover any imperfection. So my guess it was the beautician who served me years ago personal experience and she had introduced it to me. And it is really good! If not, I couldn't stick to it for 5 years.

Anyway since it is no longer available in market, I got to make to do with the "replacement". It is more liquid type compare to the previous one which is more like powder. Since it is meant for whole face, I can also used it to cover any part of my face. Coverage is good and is quite lasting. It is easy to use.

But I would still prefer my old one. :( Wonder if it is still available in Japan and anyone can get it for me on their trip? If not, I just got to "upgrade" myself.

The phased out product is on the left and the new one is on the right.

Product : Point Concealer (On right)
Price : $55
Colour I used : Medium Light Sand

Excerise : Training for my Running

I always trained once a week to prepare myself for my 10km runs. Usually I run with my colleagues at the gym or sport complex nearby my office. I always clock in 5km on running tracks and for threadmill I tried to clock for 45 mins. Actually it is not sufficient for 10km run training but I guess it is better than none.

Today as I was on leave, I got the opportunity to run at Punggol Park. I used to join one of my friend to run there every Sunday morning until my little gals complained about not able to see me in the morning when they wake up. Felt kind of gulity as I was already not spending time with them on weekdays so weekends are precious time with them. So I decided to stop going for Sunday runs except on days when I got run events which are not that often.

It had been a long time since I run in park and I really feel the difference in running in outdoor park and sport complex. Running track is a full smooth path with no uneven path and it is definitely much easier to run. I compare my timing clock in for running in park and sport complex. It is a difference of about 6 mins for the same 5km distance. It is much faster to run on running track but I don't feel as trained as I was in park.

It is very movitating to see people, old and young going for workout there. There is even a family of 4 with 2 teengers accompanying their parents for workout. (Though I am puzzled why the teengers are not in school on a school day but I am touched that they are spending time with their parents). It is my wish that when my 2 little gals are bigger, they will accompany me to runs or walks.

Unforuntately though Punggol Park is undergoing some renovation, so the air is not as fresh as it used to be. But I guess it will be when the renovation is completed. :)

Highly Recommended Products!

I had created a list of highly recommended products! All these will be tagged under my tag "Highly Recommended Products". So you just need to go to that tag and check them out.

If along the road, I feel this product is no longer working for me, I will just remove them off from this list.

Do note again that it is my personal experience. What works for me may not works for you but they served as a guideline and introduction to products for you to try out :)

Let us all share and find the products that suits us most!

Review : OPI Nail Polish and Nail Strengthener

Metro was having their attractive weekend 20% sales! Nowadays I always wait for this sales to top up my beauty products as so far there wasn't any more attractive deal than this!

I was tempted to try out blue nail polish as I read in an article recently that having blue nails is calming. I have never tried any special nail colours except my usual brown, maroon and pink. So decided to get a bit more bold and try it out. Decided on OPI as they are having 20% + 20% sales! My top favourite brand for nail polish has been Chanel. I did try out OPI before and find that they are good too but somehow Chanel is more appealing to me especially their colours. However, I managed to find the blue I wanted from OPI this round.

My fingernails are very soft and kept breaking nowadays. On the advise of the sales staff, I decided to get a nail strengthener to try out.

Product : OPI Nail Polish
Colour Code : NL B70
Price: $23.55 before discount
Review : The blue looks quite dark on my tanned skin. In my mind, I would prefer a lighter shade of blue. But the good thing as the blue is not that outstanding, I need not worry about getting feedback that I am trying out something so different from my usual. :D The polish is as good as I remember. Very easy to apply.

Product : OPI Nail Envy (Natural Nail Strengthener)
Price : $43 before discount
Review : It adds like a shiny nail polish. I never put nail colours on my fingernails as it always break and ended up looking worst. So I usually wear transparent colour. So it is good that this strengthener can give me that glossy shiny look too. I was told to apply 2 coats on my first time and after that a fresh coat every alternate day. After 1 week, I have to remove everything and apply again. I shall see what is the results after that.

Exercise : My Experience with Running Marathons

As I mentioned previously, running marathon is one of my exercise for almost 3 years. Today, I will be blogging about my love for running.

I participated in my first run in 2010. What inspired me to join the run then was not because of myself but rather for my girl. My company organised a charity run and there is this category for 1.2km run for kids where parents can run together with them. I decided to join together with my elder girl who was 3+ years old then. I do not have much recall about that run as I was busy encouraging my gal to finish! To a 3+ years old girl, 1.2km is indeed long. But I am glad she still managed to finish the run with me!

Subsequently, I was attracted by Pink Run (5km) which was organised to raise fund for Breast Cancer Organisation. I got to admit that it was pink colour which attracted me in the first place. :P I managed to get 1 of my friend to run with me. I was very nervous for that first run  as I do not really know what to expect and how long is actually 5km. I didn't really trained for it! That first 5km run was really tough as I had never run more than 2.4km in my life then! But nevertheless, my strong determination told myself I got to reach the finishing point. The first time of reaching the "finishing" point was just overwhelmed and extremely excited! I can never forget the feeling.

So from that day onwards, I was always on lookout for runs! I am also lucky that I have a friend who has been running for quite a while and she will alerted me to runs. However, although I enjoyed running marathons, I dislike training as I didn't have anyone who can run together with me. Besides, I have 2 young gals to take care after work and weekends, it is just impossible to find time to run! I tried to go gym or jog around the park near my place but I was not consistent.

However, the wonderful feeling of participating in marathons didn't stop me to run. So I continue in spite of lack of training and I finally participate in my first 10km run in April 2011. It was a very tough run as I wasn't at all prepared for it. But I was so glad that I completed that run. What more I received my first medal! (The medal is given to all runners who completed the run) The recovery after this run was a long one as my legs and body were aching. I knew it was due to my lack of training.

So I tried to go running at least once a week. I am very grateful to my husband who has been supportive and he helped to take care of my girls when I went for morning run every Sunday. I started to feel my body getting stronger and the timing for my runs also improved! In Dec 2011, I attempted my first 21km and completed it! I was so happy with my achievement!

After my 21km attempt, 10km was a much easier and smooth sailing path for me. By this time, I managed to find a running buddy at my workplace and we jog together every Monday at the sports complex near our office. For this year, I had participated 6 runs so far and I enjoyed each and every run. It gave me a great sense of achievement every time I cross the finishing point and received my medals.

My aim is to complete a 42km marathon one of these days. I'm not ready for it right now. Let give myself another year or so to achieve this.

If you like to start running for pleasure like me, here are some pointers from me. (Please note that this is not meant for expert runners. It is meant for people like me who just enjoyed running with no stress)

1) Start a shorter distance first. Never go into 42km straight! I got a friend who did and she never dare to run in marathons again.

2) You must have some training once a week. Accordingly to my friend who is an expert in running, it is actually best if you can clock in the distance you are running in a marathon per week. For example if you are running 21km, try to clock in 7km, 3 times a week. This is impossible for me as I only got time to train once a week for running. So I am not able to make very good improvement to my running time. But to me, it is fine since like I said I run for pleasure, not for competition or timing.

3) Running is a physical exercise which is rather straining to your body. It is best if you can compliment your running with some stretching exercise like yoga or pilates. I did and I feel much better than before when I just did running every week without any yoga or pilates. It is to prevent injury too as your body will be more flexible after stretching.

4) Just run your best and do not be affected by others. Running together with many people can motivated you to run much faster but do remember to listen to your body. Do not go beyond your limit. I still cannot forget how I saw a man who fainted during one of the runs and subsequently, it was reported in news that he had passed away. Very sad!

5) Find a buddy to share this interest with you Believe me, you will enjoy the run even more. :)

6) Wear comfortable attire and shoes for running. Even 5km is a long distance to for greenhorn runners. You will be thankful if you are comfortably clothed and wear the right shoes. Running Labs is a good place to seek advises for running products. There are experts around to advise you which shoes you should buy for your feet type.

Of course, we all knew to get better deals for sports shoes and such, we always got Queensway Shopping Centre. :)

Motivated to start?

These are the remaining 3 events I will participate in 2012. You can read more about them by using the link.

Nike We Run 10km
Great Eastern Women's Run 2012
Standard Chartered Marathon 2012

There are still many more! You can do a search online :)

Review : Hado Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion

I received my sample last week! I was so happy to see this arrived at my mailbox. I had initially thought that it was the milk (moisturisers) that they are giving out but seems like I am wrong. I am happy nevertheless because I didn't get this product last round as I mentioned I got 2 big bottles of toners at home, with both 1/2 used. So I am glad to get the chance to try the sample size. :)

How to get a sample? You just got to like them to the facebook and you can find the request to get sample there. :)

Product : Hado Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion
Price : $22
Found in :Wastons
Reviews : When I first pour out the lotion, I thought it is more like milk! Because unlike most lotion, this lotion is thicker in texture and it is not like water! Great! Because this meant  there is lesser wastage when you pour out the lotion in your hand. (Accordingly to their instruction, you have to pat this product onto your face with your hand, so I am not using a cotton pad here)

As I pat the lotion onto my face, I feel very comfortable. The lotion seems to have a relaxing effect on my face just like its mask as I had mentioned here. Love the feeling. After applying, I look into the mirror and saw my face seems more hydrated! Good product to try! And I seem to becoming Hada Labo's fan! :D

Review : SK II Facial Treatment Cleansing Oil

I have been using the same brand of cleansing oil for years. During my trip to Hong Kong in July, I saw this SKII Cleansing Oil at Duty Free shop at a very good price and decided to grab one to try.

Just tried this for the 2nd time today.

Product : SKII Facial Treatment Cleansing Oil
Price : Less than $60 @ Duty Free Shop at Changi Airport. (Not sure about retail price)

Review : It is very light! I'm surprised how well I can massage the oil onto my face. Unlike my previous one, this cleansing oil do not have any 'fricition" as I massage the oil into my face, making it much easier for me to remove my makeup. The oil feels more like water instead of oil.

Love this product. Now I knew why we just got to trial and error in order to find a good product. If not, how we ever discover something better.

By the way, I was told there are 2 types of makeup remover under SKII, one is gel form and one is oil form. Gel is more for people who doesn't use any eye makeup while oil is for people who used eye makeup. For me, since I used RMK eye makeup remover, it actually made no different which one I used but personally I prefer oil type because I find it more convenient to have pump out the oil into my hand rather than scope out the gel from the bottle. Well, of course, it is your preference at the end of the day. :)

Review : Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Lip Gel

I saw this at Waston while I was searching for hydrating products and could not resist to get this for myself as I got extremely dry lip. No matter what I put on, it always peel especially after a meal or towards end of the day. Most lip products only work for me for a while and after then it is back to square 1.

Product : Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Lip Gel
Price : $10+
Found in : Wastons
Review : I feel comfortable the moment I applied the gel on my lip. It is light just like their other hydrating skin care products. It gives a glossy look on my lip too, just like a clear transparent lip gloss. It seems much easier to apply my lipstick on top of my lip gloss.

I tried it for 1 week+. So far so good! My lip doesn't peel as badly as before and I like the lightness of the gel on my lip. Some lip gel makes my lip feel heavy and tight but not this one. :) I will continue to use it. I do recommend it to friends here to give it a try. :)

Contest : Ikeda Spa – Cozycot’s Favourite Day Spa – Calling all BLOGGERS!

I saw this on Ikeda Spa's Facebook! Picture from Ikeda Spa.

I would love to spa with Ikeda Spa for I have been hearing wonderful comments about Ikeda spa from my good friend. Have always wanted to give them a try but somehow didn't get to do so. It is really good to hear so many recent promotions from them. Add them on facebook (Search for Ikeda Spa) and you will know what I mean. :)

I hope to win this spa to give myself a chance relax after a tiring day at work and to refresh myself before going home to my 2nd "job" - as a mum to my 2 lovely gals and of course not forgetting to write my blog after they go to sleep! :)

Exercise : Pilates at Pilates Flow

I saw this attractive trial class at Pilates Flow on facebook and decided to give it try. I used to do pilates matwork a few years back at a community centre with my friend. After delivery my 2nd child, I stopped altogether due to lack of time. After which, my friend has also quit pilates and somehow I didn't managed to return to it. I used to like it very much but I knew due to my hearing problem, I actually not practising it the right way especially since I do not really know how to make use of the right part to move.

So this is really attractive to have this individual class with an instructor personally at this good price. I make it clear to the school that I have hearing problem and definitely need someone who is willing to work with me. I was assigned to Christina.

All along, I did pilates on mat and this is the first time, I was being exposed to the apparatus where we have to use some stretching machine to assist us in our exercise. I was actually quite "worried" as they look rather difficult to me. Nevertheless I decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, I was able to operate the apparatus with help from Christna of course. Christina is rather patient especially since I was not able to hear her talking all the time. But she did her best to help me. At the end of the session, we have some mutual understanding. I understand her more and she also knew where is my standard. Not too bad for the first time.

After the exercise, my arms and tummy is aching as most part of the exercise depend on these 2 parts. However, I felt I had a very good stretch and 'pull" for my body. Unlike Hot Yoga which is more relaxed and we sweat a lot, Pilates is totally physical and I do not sweat at all in that 1 hour session. As I exercise regularly, I do not feel tired after the session.

A starter package would cost about $500+ for 3 individual lessons and 10 matworks. I can arrange to have lesson again with Christna. The good thing is the studio is extremely near my office, so I could drop by for a session during lunchtime and back. It will be good for me especially next year when I will get really busy with my gals' stuff and may not have time to exercise after work.

I will have to think about it and decide. I had wanted to take more pictures of the studio but I didn't have chance to do so. So only managed to take one of their signboard.

Review : Shu Uemura Hair Shampoo

I first saw this product at Kimage Salon when I went for my rebonding. My first thought is since when Kimage started selling skin care product? I checked with my hair stylist, Yang Yang, only to realise that this is not their facial cleansing oil but a shampoo! It looks exactly the same as their cleansing oil.

Yang Yang joked with me that should someone who used both cleansing oil and shampoo must be really careful not to use the wrong one on face and hair! :D

After being attracted to it by the fact that it is a cleansing oil shampoo and that it can cleanse your hair well and yet not drying it out, I decided to give it a try. My hair is very troublesome. It is oily on scalp and yet dry on surface due to my rebonding and colouring. :S Hard to find a shampoo to "cater" to this need as moisturing shampoo is too rich for my scalp and shampoo meant for oily hair is too dry for my hair!

Product : Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil Shampoo
Price : Ard $60+
Found in : Kimage Salon
Review : I like the feeling of massaging this shampoo into my hair! It feels light and relax unlike some shampoo I used which actually make my hair feels so heavy as if it is pulling down my hair. After washing, I feel my head so light. It also cleansse my oil scalp well and it doesn't dry out my hair surface. Really a good product to try if minus off the expensive cost.

It is hard to find a good shampoo that suits me so if I am still happy with this product, may try again. :)

Review : Fancl Calorie Limit Supplement

I got this about 1 week ago to get rid of my body fats as I feel possibly my body is not able to release the fats through exercise. I am not someone who eat a lot too but of course I do have craving at times for unhealthy food (who doesn't :P) and I love bread a lot!

I tried it for a week. I took it for my heaviest meal, usually lunch or dinner. I only take it once a day. I find after taking this, I do not feel bloated after my meal which I always do especially if I eat too much. My intake of food also slightly lesser but I still do eat my 4 meals daily - Breakfast, Lunch, Tea Break and Dinner.

I am not sure if the weighing machine is faulty or what but I lost 1 kg! I will continue to monitor it.

Friends who are inspired by my experience here, do take note of this. I exericse twice a week, I eat healthy lunch and dinner (such as fish soup, rice completed with 1 meat, 2 vegetables, chicken mayo sandwich). Occasionally, I do go for fast food such as Mos Burger which is my favourite but I seldom order french fries. Usually I order a soup and salad to go with Burger. Yet in spite of these, I have excess body fats. That is why I decided to "seek" help with supplements since I already doing the necccessary and the supplement possibly work faster for me due to this reason. :)

So do not expect wonderful results if you are not exercising and eating unhealthy food. :)

Product : Fancl Calorie Limit
Price : $13 for a pack of 10 (Pre-packed 4 tablets in a small package)

* Note that for this product, there is 2 pacakaging. 1 package is a big package with 30 tablets. Another package is a package with 10 small pre-packed package. It is more costly of course to get the one with small pre-packed package, but it is much more convenient to bring out. So it will be your personal preference. Ask the salegirls more about this.

To use : Eat 4 tablets before your heavy meal. Was told that it is best to take 20 mins before your meal. But sometimes, I forgot so I just take right before my meal. :P

Review : RMK Eye Makeup Remover

I like this product so much that I decided to blog about it even though I only use it once. I had never used eye makeup remover before. All along, I used my cleansing oil to remove my eye makeup. However, recently I find the cleansing oil doesn't seem to be doing a good job to remove my eye liner. Sometimes, after cleaning my face, I still can see "leftover" eye liner on my eyes.

When I tried on RMK eye makeup remover at the workshop, it instantly removed my eyes makeup including my eye liner. I decided to buy it as I can get free gift if I was to top up to certain amount and I was not far from that.

When I tried again at home, really no regret to get this product! Not only, it removed my heavy eye makeup easily, it is also very moisturising for my eyes! My eyes are always very dry and itchy after washing it with cleansing oil. All along I had thought it is because my eyes are too sensitive. However, today after cleaning it off with eye makeup remover, my eyes are not dry or itchy at all! I was so pleased with the result!

As I never use eye makeup remover before, I cannot compare and concluded RMK one is the best. But right now, it is good enough for me :)

Product : RMK Eye Makeup Remover
Price : $33
Review : As above :)

Event : RMK Autumn Winter Makeup Course

I saw this event at Isetan Website and was attracted by their eye colours on their advertisement. Somehow I decided to go for it even though it is going to cost me $100 but the $100 is redeemable for their products. I never try this brand before so decided it is a good chance for me to learn about make up as well as to try out their products.

I had learnt about makeup about 15 years ago when I was asked to try out modelling course (which never work out in the end). I was right that things has changed. Nowadays the makeup is more bold and more stylish compared to 15 years ago when it was more conservative.

The makeup artist to this workshop is from Japan, Masaaki Abe, a guy with extremely fair and nice complexion. He analysed our skin before the start of the workshop and selected our skin tone colour for us. He told me my complexion is good (wow! :P)

Since I already had basic knowledge of makeup, it wasn't too difficult for me to follow. I learnt something new about using of eyelash curler. All along, I thought I should push up the curler to make my eyelashes curl up. Totally wrong! I should be pushing it downward and as you apply mascara after that, the curl will go up automatically. It was right! The moment, I did that, my short eye lashes actually look much much longer. Very pleased with this new finding. I also learnt how to enhance my eyes makeup for my small tiny eyes.

RMK has 6 new eye colours for this season. I selected colour 6, which is a mixed of gold and black as I am a tanned person and I prefer more natural look. There are also 4 new blusher shades for this season. I like the fact that they consist of tone-correcting cream base and a vibrant powder textured hue. I selected colour 2. Like these 2 items so much, that I bought them after the workshop. The makeup artist also agreed that I had selected the right colour for myself.

Not a bad experience with a new brand :)

P/s : Besides eye shadow and blusher, I also bought their mascara which I like a lot as it got a base too (1st time I saw a mascara with a base) and their eye liner as I am not very pleased with my current one and it seems good when I tried it at the workshop.

Review : Habo Labo Hydrating Face Wash and Mask

I happened to chance on this brand during my search online for hydrating skin care and there are so many good reviews about their products that I did a further research on this products.

It had been in Singapore for a while. I always saw it at Wastons but usually I dare not anyhow try new products due to my sensitive skin. So I subscribe to their facebook, read their website and search up on forum to find out more. Finally, I decided I will give this brand a try. I like skin care and cosmetic from Japan.

I made a trip to Wastons yesterday. Stood there for quite a while as there are a few products and I do not want to get the full range yet as I still have many skin care at home, so deciding real hard to see which one I should get to compliment my current skin care products.

In the end, I decided to use their hydrating face wash and mask first. I knew their toner is their top most recommended products but I already have 2 bottles at home, using 1/2 way.

Product 1 : Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Face Wash
Price : $12.90
Found in : Wastons
Review : Great! My face felt very light and refreshed as I massage the cleanser onto my face. After washing, my face is not tight and is really very smooth. Great value product!

Product 2 : Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Face Mask
Price : $21.90 for 4 pcs in a box
Found in : Wastons
Review : The shape of the mask fitted my face exactly. The moment the mask is placed on my face, I felt relaxed and light. After removing the mask, I massage the essence into my face and apply my daily moisturiser. I find that my face can absorb the moisturiser much better now after using the mask. I woke up to extremely smooth and nice complexion. Nice product to try!

I will get other products from this range to try soon. I have registered for free sample for their Super Hyaluronic Acid Milk on their facebook. Hope they will send to me one soon.

Natural Remedies to a Better Health

This blog will be a very long one as it goes long way back to 2001. I am trying to recall what I have done so far. I really hope to share this important thing with everyone.

Since my health suffered in 2001, I have been looking for natural remedies for better health. I was sick of trying out different kind of medicines and drugs. Not only it didn’t make me any better, it is very tiring and sad to suffer side effect of medication, ranging from exhaustion, loss of appetite, moods swing and many more.
My health was in such a bad condition in 2001, that I was suffering from giddy spells every 2 weeks and sometimes I vomited too due to my giddiness. My hearing then was going up and down. One moment I can hear something, next moment, I cannot hear anything. I suffered from severe shoulders pain and I was tired all the time.

One fine day, I think I got enough of such life. I was only in my 20s. I asked myself how much longer I am going to live such a life? It is so hard to live each day when I was suffering like that. I must really thank to my friends and husband who continue to give me support and bore with my mood swing during that period. I believe it wasn’t any easy for them as it was for me.
I have read up a lot of books, research on internet and talk to friends on finding natural remedies to get better. One of the very first things that I tried was tuina, a traditional Chinese massage. It was recommended by my ex-colleague then who heard about my condition. It was one of the best things that happened to me since my health suffered! The therapist massaged away my painful shoulders aches which I had thought it was normal. It was so painful that when I had my first treatment, I was screaming in pain as the therapist rubbed my shoulders. I continued to suffer in pain for the next 2 days and then realised that by the 4th day, I am no longer feeling the pain and instead my shoulders are so relaxed. Guess what? I also didn’t suffer giddy spells during my treatment period. I was told to go back every week until I got better I could go every 2 weeks. However, after going for regular treatment for 1 year plus, I started to feel the therapist is getting a bit “ya ya” (proud). I dislike her saying that my life is dependable on her! Why should I depend on anyone for my health and life?

So after hearing that statement, it wake up more that I should be searching for more ways to help myself rather than depending on her. Besides there is also a limit on how much the treatment can do for a person. I do not like the fact that the treatment can only last me for about 2 weeks and after that I started to feel my shoulder aching again. One thing amazing though is I do not suffer from any giddy spells again.
After reading and researching more on this topic, I came to know about detoxing. There are many ways for detoxing and one of the most popular one is to fast for 3 days to remove the toxins in your body. Noting this is not an easy task and you must be in good health to embark this process.  Having a weak body myself at that point, I dare not embark on this process fully but rather ½ day. I feel my body lighter after fast for 3 nights (meaning I skipped dinner, but drink plenty of water), Detoxing is a long process and I shall share more on this topic fully next round. I had embarked on 3 full days on detoxing after my health got better.

There is one very simple way of detoxing. That is to drink warm water with a dip of lemon juice every morning the very first thing after you wake up. Yes, this simple routine can make a big different to your health. At times when I feel very bloated or have signs that I am having a sore throat, I will just drink a glass of warm water with lemon juice. I always feel better after that.
And the most important thing I feel that make me a much healthier person today is none but exercise! This is something a lot of people have excuses not to do, but believe me, this is something very important.  What you need to do is to find something you enjoy so that exercise can be part of your life, rather than a chore. For me, it took a long time for me to discover my interest. Being a hearing impairment also limited me to certain exercise which required a lot of instructions from instructor as I am not able to follow them well. I also dare not try a personal instructor as it is not easy to find someone who can be patient with me.

So finally, I embarked on running marathons, something that I need not find someone to accompany me or instruction from anyone. Running is tedious physical exercise so I took up hot yoga to compliment my running.  It took me very long to discover Hot Yoga B which has 26 fixed poses so I can follow them easier so long as I master the steps to it.
After starting my exercise, plus looking out for what goes inside my stomach, I am pleased to say I am a very healthy person today. In 2011, I didn’t take a single day of MC! My giddy spells are history and I no longer feel tired. I got so much energy that it was much easier for me to take care of my 2 young gals too.

That is how I came to realise nothing is more important than your health. As they always said “beauty is from within”. How true.
Hope I have introduced you some natural remedies which you can also try out for a healthier you.  I had tried out many others too during my road to recovery, but I am not able to pen them down now as it happened so long ago. However, if I ever recall anything, I will definitely share it.

Rebonding!

I have been doing rebonding for years! My hair is fizzy and half wavy. It is so messy that I do not know what to do with it until rebonding came along. Since I discovered this amazing thing for my hair, I have been doing rebonding once every year. The effect usually last for 6 months or so but for me, I just do it once a year.

My hair stylist, Yang Yang from Kimage (Funan Branch) did a wonderful job each time and my hair never dry out and I can actually maintained the condition for about 9 months or so. I have tried other hair stylists in between, none of them can do rebonding as good as her. She is simply the best one for me. She also keep track of all our appointments, when we do each treatment and she will contact me when it is time for my treatment or when there is promotion going on. She is gems and a life saver to my ugly hair!

Event : Pleats Pleats Joyful Party by Issey Miyake

Date : 2 Sep 2012
Time : 4 to 6pm
Location : Metro Paragon Lobby

I got invited by Metro to this event. There is only 30 seats and I was lucky to get a place. I went with the mind to get a new fragrance as I am finishing my current Chanel one soon. I had been using the same fragrance for the past 2 years and is now itchy for a change.
I reached there at around 4.40pm as I need to send my little girl somewhere else. The MC was giving some quiz which I was not able to catch what it was. So I just went to browse the parfume and tried the new fragrance. First impression, it was very sweet and girlish. I liike the bottle which is very different from their traditional one.

The sale staff who served me was very patient and offered me a lot of free gifts. I forgot to take down her name though. I wanted to get one bottle for my mum too. So in the end, I bought  one 30 ml bottle (for my mum), one 50 ml bottle (for myself) and one more floral parfume which I may give one of my friend as birthday present in Dec. In the end, I got a lot of sample sizes parfume, shower gel and body lotion.
The event is not too bad. They served cocktail and cupcakes. Cupcakes is too sweet for my liking, But I do like their sweet and nice decoration. Very pink and girlish. Something which suits me. :)

New Buys from Fancl

If you read my blog, you will read that I got 2 issues to settle. One is to reduce my body fats and another one is to find hydrating products for my dry skin.

It was just nice that I received a leaflet from Fancl to offer me to sample to their new Overnight Hydrating Pack. I immediately rushed down to Fancl counter today to claim my sample and to find out more about this new product from the staff. So this is a new sleeping mask which I was suppose to put on after my usual skincare. Look good. I will try it out later and feedback. It is $56 per bottle.

I couldn't resist to invest into their brightening mist lotion, This is an limited edition product, suppose to smooth, hydrates, refreshes and give skin a healthy glow. I wanted to use this after exercise and when I feel tired and when my skin is dry especially since I work in air-con environment whole day long. It is $30 per bottle.

For my body fats issue, I am not someone into slimming pills and such. However, all along I do feel safe in consuming Fancl products as they are free of preservatives and most important they are very particular about expiry date. To me, especially for consumable items to eat, it is important. So when I first knew about my body fats issue, immediately I wanted to find something from Fancl. Deciding between their famous Prefect Shape Up Drink and Calorie Limit, I decided to go for Calorie Limit first as I feel possibly it is due to my body not able to digest the fats and sugar well. Not sure if my analysis is correct. Anyway, I decided to try out this. I was told that I only need to take it when I am eating oily or food that is rich in carbohydrates. So I guess I will be taking it every lunch time since I eat out. Let see if it will work for me.

Lastly I also bought their skin base to try. They come in 2 colours - pink and green. The staff recommended the pink base for my skin type as I do not have redness problem. I tried it at counter and the texture is very light and smooth. Will review on all these products soon!

Health Checkup

I am always thankful that I worked in a company who provide free basic health check up for us every year. They even arranged for the health check up to be done in our office and during our office hours! I had always signed up for the test since they first started. They also offered us with more comprehensive check up which we need to top up a bit. I tried to do a more comprehensive check up every 3 years.

So far, I am glad to say I have been in pink of health with no high risk of high blood pressure, high cholesterol or diabetes. I have to say this pink of health doesn't come by naturally but rather due to my high awareness of health issue. Since my health suffered in 2001, I have been taking good care of myself. I research a lot and read up a lot. It is a little sad to say I didn't blog down my experience then. What a waste. But nevertheless, I will try to recall as much as possible and share over here.

Right now, what I did is to exercise twice a week, take Vitamin B Complex and Vitamin E daily and control what I eat. I tried to do detox every once in a while to flush out the toxins in my body. I always feel good after my detox session but I got to admit this is something not easy to do or follow. I will share more about it when I have my next detox session.

Nevertheless, this year. my company organised a visceral fat test for us for the first time. According to the write up I have, high visceral fat surrounding your internal organs will lead to high blood pressure, high cholesterol, stroke and diabetes! I am glad to say I passed the test as I fall within the ideal range. My body age is also 4 years younger than my actual age (beaming :P). However, my body fat is a bit slightly higher than acceptable range although I am not over weight at all. So I guess I will have to find out a bit more about this issue.

It is a little sad to hear that 90% of my colleagues failed the visceral fats and most of them fall in the high risk range. It is mainly due to lack of exercise and the food they ate. So it really took a lot of discipline to maintain good health. However, you will be thankful for it when you find yourself feeling good everyday. Since I started to take good care of my health, I seldom fell sick. (Believe it or not, from the period of 2001 to 2003, I have giddy spells every 2 weeks which lead to vomitting as well and I am always looking dull and my skin is horrible!) The lady who did the visceral fats test today for me told me I look so radiant and bright that from my look, she knew that I am very healthy and the test confirmed it.

Health is very important to me now and I took care of myself and my 2 little gals age 6 and 4. They are also both very healthy and seldom fell sick as I plan their diets and always bring them out for exercise once a week. I do not restrict snack and ice cream totally. I allowed them to eat these (they are children afterall) but not until they had their main meals and they are to drink a lot of water after that. :)

Hope to share more about health issue again soon.

Review : Whitening Mask (Prive Clinic)

I always make it a point to put on face mask as well after my marathon run. It is my way to reward myself for my "hard" work to complete my 10km run as well as relax.

Today, I decided to try out the whitening mask from Prive Clinic. Like their acne relief clear mask, the essence is so rich that when you put out the mask from the package, you felt like the essence overflow!

The essence is so thick that I do not apply moisturiser after removing the mask. I just massage the essence to let my face absorb it more thoroughly and after that I just went to sleep. The essence is so white that it make me looks like I'm applying thick layer of power! When I wake up, my face is still very white!

Overall, this mask is okay for me. I wake up to nice and smooth skin as well. However, possibly to the essence, the mask is very heavy. I feel like my face being "pulled" down as I put the mask on my face. I do not feel as relax as when I use other mask due to this heaviness. However, I don't mind to use it for the benefits to make my skin more radiant!

I took another picture of the masks I bought from Prive Clinic. When I bought last week, they are having promotion of you buy 10, you get 5 pieces free.  The whitening mask is the one on the right.

Review : Foot Mask from Étude House

I went for 10km run again today! This is my 5th one for this year. Usually after my run, I will treat myself to a relaxing foot mask from Étude House. (I also use a face mask together, see here) This is my top favourite product from them! My feet always feel relaxed and moisturized after each use. It is also selling like hot cakes! Always grab 10 pieces when i need to top up. Just realized this is my last piece, need to to down to grab some soon!

This is how it looks like when you put on the mask on your feet :)

Review:-

Product : Etude House Foot Mask (Hand Bouquet Range)
Price : $8.90
About this product :  Really love this product. The mask fits your feet like a pair of socks and they even give you a pair of transparent plastic bags which add as "gloves" to you feet so that you can still walk around even when putting the mask! Feel like I am doing a spa for my feet at such a good price :)

Exercise : Hot Yoga

As I mentioned before that we can't achieve good skin with just products and facial alone. It comes with good maintenance of health as well. Only by taking good care of yourself, then can you maintain good skin, good look as well as happiness! That is because falling sick is a horrible thing to happen to anyone!

Recently, one of my colleagues was strike with stroke all a sudden. He is only 42 and right now his half body (right side) is immobile. He needs to go on long term medication, treatment and therapy to recover. I strongly believe this is due to he not taking good care of his body. He eats like a mountain, he doesn't exercise and he is way over weight at more than 90kg. Seeing him suffering right now, I really feel very sorry for him and at the same time, telling myself I'm doing the right thing to exercise at least twice a week and control my diet. My colleague is regretting for his action and told us he will definitely take good care of himself from now onwards.

Anyway, hot yoga is one of my regular exercise since last year October. I discovered it by chance as groupon was offering this voucher at $40 (or $30) for 4 sessions with Absolute Yoga. So I went to try and fell in love with on first try. I would like to say it is not easy for me as I am a hearing impaired. Yup, I cannot hear anything with my left ear and am wearing hearing aid. I will share more about this next time.

I always go for Hot Yoga B which consists of 26 poses in the same sequences. It is very easy and simple to follow (which is why although I cannot hear well, I can still follow them). Hot Yoga means you are practising yoga in a hot room of above 37 degree! Yes! You will be sweating a lot but you will feel great after the session. For me, I feel like all the toxic in my body being flushed out! I would like to mention before I started on Hot Yoga, I always had shoulder pain which is possibly caused by my desk bound job and I always need to go for massage to ease away the pain. It is only a temporary measure. And when I started on Hot Yoga regularly, I realised I hardly got shoulder pain anymore!

And I like my look after each session, radiant and refreshing and healthy! Before I discovered Hot Yoga, I am into running marathon. I participated regularly in 10km runs. With this hot yoga, it actually compliment my running exercise as hot yoga helps to heal up the body aching and sore after the run! So nowadays, my exercise consists of 1 session of 5 to 10km run and 1 session of Hot Yoga per week.

Of course, everyone got their own exercise routine. Take your time to discover yours but most important is you must be consistent and if you can, find a buddy who has the same interest as you so that you can keep up to your exercise routine. For me, I have found a buddy for running and a buddy for hot yoga. They are great company to me and that is why I am able to keep up to my exercise routine for the past 2 years without fail. :)

If you have any good things to share about exercise, do share them with me!

Review : Diamond Peel Facial by Prive Clinic

I went to claim my prize yesterday! It had been ages since I went facial especially treatment facial. I had been going to Clea De Peau facial since I started using their products. Their facial is those massage facial, with no extraction and machine involved.

The service at Prive Clinic is really good. They made you feel welcome and definitely not pushy. Joanne is the one who did the treatment for me. Before starting on treatment, she did a face analysis for me. I was told my skin type is dry, sensitive and signs of ageing is starting to show. However, I scored high marks for smoothness and pores. This is due to my good maintaining over the years. (Heee.. at least now I feel good with all the things I had done so far for my skin). I was told I need hydrating products a lot. (Something new to me as all along I thought my skin is towards oily and I always using combination products for oily skin together with anti ageing products). So my next step is to find out more about hydrating products. Anyone got good one to share with me?

After the analysing, I was bought into the facial room. Joanne washed my face and use a machine to peel off all my dead skin cells. After that, she did some extraction for me. Her skill is quite good as it was not too painful and my face is not so red after the facial. (I had bad experience with facial which leaves me redness and swollen after the facial! Spoken to Joanne about this, she mentioned because I have very sensitive skin and so I tend to have redness after the facial. But for them, they cooled it off for me with their mask and so I don't see any redness after facial)

After extraction, she did some massage for me. I always enjoyed this part of facial. Joanne's skill is not bad too. (I am someone who went through painful tuina for treatment of my health years ago so massage is never a painful procedure for me. It is in fact so relaxing to me compare to painful tuina which rub and push your shoulder till you can scream)

After the massage, she put on a mask for me. I think it is a clay mask as it harden after it dried and Joanne "cracked" it after that with her hands.

The moment, everything is done. I feel my face is so much relax and lighten. It is not as tight as it is before. Joanne said it is because the dead skin cells had been removed so my skin feel lighten. And when I looked into the mirror, my face looks very much brighten and clear.

Overall, I think it is a good treatment to try. They are having a promotion when you signed up a package for 6, they will give you 2 free. I haven't sign up as I wanted to remove my milia seeds first. I booked my appointment in October! And I also top up my whitening and clear acne relief masks Invested into something else which I will share in next blog as it is nothing to do with my facial :)

Review : Clear Acne Relief Mask (Prive Clinic)

I love to use masks. I find that I need to use masks at least 2 to 3 times a week in order to maintain my skin in good condition especially I seldom go facial nowadays. I tried many masks over the past 2 years and will try to share them as much as I can

I just used Clear Acne Relief Mask for Prive Clinic last night and decided to blog about this first while the experience is fresh on my mind.

I decided to use this mask last night as my face was getting some mild breakout again possibly to due my work stress recently. The moment I put on the mask, I feel a cool sensation on my face immediately. I believe this is due to the ingredient : Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Menthol found inside the mask. My eyes almost cannot open too! . Usually when I do my mask, I will read books. But with this mask, I decided to just close my eyes and relax since I cannot really open my eyes (Don't get me wrong, it doesn't sting but possibly because it is so cooling, you just feel like closing your eyes). It is really a good relaxing mask.

So I just closed my eyes and set my alarm clock to 20 mins. After 20 mins, I removed the mask. Oh mine, the essence on the mask was so thick that my face was full of it after removing the mask. As per the instruction on the package, I have to massage around the face to facilitate the absorption of the remaining essence. I didn't feel like applying any toner or moisturiser after that as I feel the essence is more than enough.

2 pcs of Clear Acne Relief Mask and 3 pcs of Whitening Mask.

This morning, I wake up to a radiant and smooth face. It was also much easier to apply make up today which I think it is possibly due to the smoother complexion. I like the mask, maybe will buy a few more pieces to try out. Need to find out how much are the masks when I go for my Diamond Peel Facial.

The only con of this mask is the size of the mask is very big which I think is because the mask is from USA. It is so big that it can even cover my neck and due to the richness of the essence, the essence actually keep dripping onto my neck and clothes. So I really got to lie down while putting on this mask. But well, what is a little inconvenience if the mask is good and suitable for me :)

Prive Clinic - How I started with them.

It was by chance that I was being introduced to Prive Clinic in July this year. I got to know about this clinic from a famous blogger's blog. By chance, I wanted to remove my milia seeds for the longest time as they are really very unslightly and I had lot of them under my eye bags and some of my face too. But somehow never get around to get them done partly because I haven't been able to find a doctor whom I am really comfortable with.

So I was so happy when I was selected as a winner to Prive Clinic's prize for the famous blogger's give away! :D All I need to do is to share why I deserved to be a winner and I was selected. I got myself 5 free masks and a free consulation. Really very happy as I was hesitiating if I should give them a try. With the free consulation, of course, I go!

My first consulation was with Dr Janice. The clinic gives me a very good first impression. The staff was all very friendly and made me really comfortable. So I share with Dr Janice my concern about my milia seeds and she briefly explained to me the procedure. I need to "bear" with some ugly marks for about 5 days. Hmmm.. meaning I need to stay away for work. Hmmm.. need to plan my work schedule before I can get it done.

Anyway, she gave me 5 pieces of masks based on my skin type. I was very impressed with the fact that actually I won the Zen Free Mask but they didn't give that to me as Dr Janice feels other masks are more suitable for my skin type. She gave me Clear Acne Relief Mask and Whitening Mask. I was having some mild breakout at the point of my visit so she gave me 2 pieces of the Clear Acne Relief Mask to clear them off and 3 pieces of Whitening Mask to brighten my skin! (Will share my review in another blog).

After going home, I started to research more about Prive Clinic and I seem to be seeing alot of good review. By chance, I saw a July survery which gives me a chance to win a Diamond Peel Facial. Just submitted it to try my luck.

Guess what? I was informed in August that I was selected as a winner again! :D So I will be able to try out this Diamond Peel Facial for free this month. Looks like I really have a lot of fate with this clinic. :) Will review about this facial after my appointment.

Review : Vasline Lip Therapy

I discovered this product by chance when reading a beauty blogger's review about this. I really cannot remember which blogger now as I was just scanning through the website at that point and it wasn't to search for beauty products but rather on travel.

Just so concidence I was going to Hong Kong at that point and this product can only be found in Hong Kong! I tried to search for it in Singapore but seems like it doesn't carry. Anyway, I got it from Manning in Hong Kong (Guardian in Singapore). I can only find it there. I tried to look for it at Sasa and Waston in Hong Kong but I couldn't find it until I finally found this in Manning on my last day. I'm so glad I got it!

I love this so much that now I do not use any other lip gloss or lip protector. So here is my review.

Product :Vaseline Lip Therapy with Rose and Almond Oil
Found in : Manning in Hong Kong
Cost : HKD 25 (Est SGD4.20)
Review : It gives me a really moisturing lip! My lip is very very dry type that it will peel off by end of the day even though I applied lip protector. I had used $99 lip protector before. Everyone raves by the $99 lip protector but it is still the same to me. :(

With this lip therapy, my lip do not peel at all at the end of the day! And with its light pink colour, I actually do not need to apply anymore lipstick or lip gloss but I still do if I want a stronger colour. If I used this lip therapy + my skilly girl lip gloss, the colour would actually stay on my lip whole day long and I do not even need to reapply!

So the word "rosy lips" suits this product 100%! Get this if you ever travel to Hong Kong. I'm a bit regretted that I  only bought 3 which the other 2 are to be gifts to my friends. This will possibly last me for 6 months. If I travel to Hong Kong in the next few months, will definitely top up more. :)

They got another one with aloe vera which is green in colour. I would buy that to try out next time too. :)
