Exercise : Nike We Run SG 10K 2012

As it was raining on dogs and cats yesterday, I was kind of worried that we might not be able to run! But I guess we were very lucky that the rain came at and stop at the right time today for us to be able to complete the run.

Many people complained about the t-shirts provided by Nike this round, saying the size is too small, the material is too hot. But I love this t-shirt. I thought it was well cut and material is definitely okay. I guess everyone got different expectation. There are so many runners to this run, how can Nike make everyone happy? Nevertheless, I got to say I am the happy one.

The route this round was okay for me. I am starting to feel "seasoned" to 10km runs these few sessions. Previously, I would feel a drag and 10km seemed such a long distance. In the last three 10km I took part in, I started to feel at ease with the distance and I do not feel like I am doing a "tough" job. I guess my body has already got used to the distance. :) And in fact, there is also a good improvement to my running time. Compare to my runs in May, I had improved by 10 mins which is really a good achievement.

I must say the new Skechers shoes help me a lot! Remember I posted about my new shoes here? My sole is not painful nor tired after the run and I credited it to this pair of shoes as I remember I still feel painful under my sole when I used my old pair of shoes in my August 10km run. Most important, it is so light weight that I felt extremely comfortable when I wore it. Really love this shoes! :) Possibly light weighted shoes from other brands also can helped as much. I had heard from my friends that Nike also has light weighted shoes which are good.

And oh yes, Nike gave a very nice lime green finisher t-shirts to all participants who completed the run. This is my first finisher t-shirt as most organiser would only give finisher t-shirt to 42km runners.

I enjoyed my run extremely today and looked forward to my next one on 11 November :)

Review : Ikeda Spa Albion Corrective Facial

Finally today is my appointment with Ikeda Spa. They have this promotion if you like their facebook, you can get to enjoy Albion Corrective Facial @ $48. One of my friend has been raving about this spa and had recommend to me a few times but I never get around to try it.

Decided to give a try since they are having a good promotion. I felt as if I am stepping into a Japanese House as I entered the spa. The staff are all friendly and greeted me with a smile. They were on time too to start my facial exactly at 6pm. Of course, I also arrived 15 mins earlier so it gave them the chance to get registration and such done beforehand.

My therapist (I forgot to note down her name) went through a survey with me before starting the facial with me. Given my own experience with my skin, I knew what is my problem and such so I am able to share with her my needs.

I was then brought into the facial room which was cozy though a bit small. The facial lasted for 1 hour which is a bit short for me as I always did 1hr 30 mins facial. The therapist cleansed my face, did some massage, extraction and ended everything with a mask. The therapist's extraction skill is good as it wasn't painful at all and after the facial, I do not see any reddish or ugly dot on my face. Her massage skill is light and in my view average.

Accordingly to their website, this facial is "a deep cleansing and exfoliating facial treatment finished with Japan No. 1 top-selling Albion Skin Conditioner mask to energise skin, leaving it healthier, brighter and cleaner."

I do feel my face is much cleaner and brighter after the facial. :) What I like most is the therapist applied a orange flavor lip balm on mylip twice during the facial. This is something unique. This made my lip feel moist and relaxing ( I felt as if I am eating an orange!)

Overall, it is a good experience. After facial, we are treated to a nice cup of Japanese tea and biscuits! :)

If you are keen, do visit their website. This promotion is still on from what I see and they have time to time promotion for 1st time customer. :)

About Bellabox

It seems that most beauty gura bloggers are aware of Bellabox. I happened to chance on it while reading several blogs of beauty gura bloggers and started to find out more about this.

So what is Bellabox? Basically you just need to become their member and every month they will send to you a box with 5 beauty product samples which will be customised to your needs and after trying, you can buy from them online or from retailers. It is that simple :) It is really good for people like me who like to try out new products.

I am truly impressed with their packaging! It is like receiving a present :) I received the October box today and guess what I received?

1) Guerlain Kobe Noire Parfume
2) Nuxe Face and Body Ultra Rich Cleansing Gel
3) Nuxe Multi Usage Dry Oil
4) Nuxe 24 Hr Moisturing Body Lotion
5) Bioderma Solution Micellaire

And oh yes with a foldable compact mirror from Bellabox which I like a lot because it is pink. :)

I am happy as item 2 to 5, I will not buy them to try out myself if not for Bellabox  as I am  not familiar these brands and I do not know where to buy although I roughly recall seeing Nuxe in Robinsion.

Shall try them out and feedback!

Review : Skechers Gotrain Running Shoes

It had been a busy September that I haven't been writing this blog for a few weeks and I missed it badly.

Finally today got the time to come in to do some updating. This is my latest best buy which I thought I should share! I got this at 20% discount and really love this of shoes as it is so light and make it much easier for me to run. And I found one with my 2 favourite colours, pink and black! :)

My old pair of running shoes from Nike provided extremely good cushion and support for me but after sometimes especially for running more than 10km, I felt the shoes are too heavy for my feet that it seem like dragging my feet especially after running for sometimes and it made my feet really tired. I discussed with my running colleagues about my problem and they suggested I should go for lighter shoes for I am a very "light" runner too. My pace is very light and easy as I am a very relaxed jogger.

The moment I put on this pair of shoes, I feel like I can "fly" as it is so light compared to my previous one. I did my first 5km with the new shoes and clock in a better timing. I believe it is because the shoes is so light that I didn't feel any pressure as I run so I am able to run faster and better. :)

Let see what is my new record for 10km on 21 Oct Nike Run :)
