Review : Fancl Overnight Hydrating Mask

This is a slightly overdue post as I forgot all about this even though I have been using it for about a month. After trying out the sample as I had posted here, I decided to get a full size one to try out. My first try of the mask was my face wasn't as tight as before. This mask is to be apply after your usual moisturiser. Usually after applying moisturiser, my face will feel a bit tight and uneasy. But with this mask, it actually get rid of the tightness and uneasy feeling.

I started to see effect recently that after washing my face in the morning, my face is still very hydrated and nice. I love this product except one bad news, it is a limited edition product so that means it may not be around for long. This is the reason why I was hesitating to try initially. But anyway since it was good, I decided to buy another 2 more bottles to keep. Hopefully by then, my skin is more hydrated and I can find other alternative should I can't find this product anymore.

Another thing I like about this product is the nice blue bottle :D

Product: Fancl Overnight Hydrating Mask
Price : $56
Note : As like any other Fancl products, once open you got to finish the mask in 60 days.

Review : Shu Uemura Point Concealer

I have been using Shu Uemura Eye Correcting Pro Concealer for more than 5 years! I love this product! I started using this product when a beautician at Shu Uemura told me that this concealer will make my eye makeup looks nicer and will last longer. And really it does so I faithfully used this product and it can even covered up my milia seeds slightly.

So I was so disappointed when I went to the Metro sales with the intention to top up this product only to hear that they have phased it out! I was so lost when I was told it is no longer available for sales. So I asked the beautician if there is any alternative to this product and was showed a concealer meant for whole face instead. When I told the staff that I have been using the eye concealer for years to make my eye makeup last longer, they were puzzled and told me that concealer is meant to cover any imperfection. So my guess it was the beautician who served me years ago personal experience and she had introduced it to me. And it is really good! If not, I couldn't stick to it for 5 years.

Anyway since it is no longer available in market, I got to make to do with the "replacement". It is more liquid type compare to the previous one which is more like powder. Since it is meant for whole face, I can also used it to cover any part of my face. Coverage is good and is quite lasting. It is easy to use.

But I would still prefer my old one. :( Wonder if it is still available in Japan and anyone can get it for me on their trip? If not, I just got to "upgrade" myself.

The phased out product is on the left and the new one is on the right.

Product : Point Concealer (On right)
Price : $55
Colour I used : Medium Light Sand

Excerise : Training for my Running

I always trained once a week to prepare myself for my 10km runs. Usually I run with my colleagues at the gym or sport complex nearby my office. I always clock in 5km on running tracks and for threadmill I tried to clock for 45 mins. Actually it is not sufficient for 10km run training but I guess it is better than none.

Today as I was on leave, I got the opportunity to run at Punggol Park. I used to join one of my friend to run there every Sunday morning until my little gals complained about not able to see me in the morning when they wake up. Felt kind of gulity as I was already not spending time with them on weekdays so weekends are precious time with them. So I decided to stop going for Sunday runs except on days when I got run events which are not that often.

It had been a long time since I run in park and I really feel the difference in running in outdoor park and sport complex. Running track is a full smooth path with no uneven path and it is definitely much easier to run. I compare my timing clock in for running in park and sport complex. It is a difference of about 6 mins for the same 5km distance. It is much faster to run on running track but I don't feel as trained as I was in park.

It is very movitating to see people, old and young going for workout there. There is even a family of 4 with 2 teengers accompanying their parents for workout. (Though I am puzzled why the teengers are not in school on a school day but I am touched that they are spending time with their parents). It is my wish that when my 2 little gals are bigger, they will accompany me to runs or walks.

Unforuntately though Punggol Park is undergoing some renovation, so the air is not as fresh as it used to be. But I guess it will be when the renovation is completed. :)

Highly Recommended Products!

I had created a list of highly recommended products! All these will be tagged under my tag "Highly Recommended Products". So you just need to go to that tag and check them out.

If along the road, I feel this product is no longer working for me, I will just remove them off from this list.

Do note again that it is my personal experience. What works for me may not works for you but they served as a guideline and introduction to products for you to try out :)

Let us all share and find the products that suits us most!

Review : OPI Nail Polish and Nail Strengthener

Metro was having their attractive weekend 20% sales! Nowadays I always wait for this sales to top up my beauty products as so far there wasn't any more attractive deal than this!

I was tempted to try out blue nail polish as I read in an article recently that having blue nails is calming. I have never tried any special nail colours except my usual brown, maroon and pink. So decided to get a bit more bold and try it out. Decided on OPI as they are having 20% + 20% sales! My top favourite brand for nail polish has been Chanel. I did try out OPI before and find that they are good too but somehow Chanel is more appealing to me especially their colours. However, I managed to find the blue I wanted from OPI this round.

My fingernails are very soft and kept breaking nowadays. On the advise of the sales staff, I decided to get a nail strengthener to try out.

Product : OPI Nail Polish
Colour Code : NL B70
Price: $23.55 before discount
Review : The blue looks quite dark on my tanned skin. In my mind, I would prefer a lighter shade of blue. But the good thing as the blue is not that outstanding, I need not worry about getting feedback that I am trying out something so different from my usual. :D The polish is as good as I remember. Very easy to apply.

Product : OPI Nail Envy (Natural Nail Strengthener)
Price : $43 before discount
Review : It adds like a shiny nail polish. I never put nail colours on my fingernails as it always break and ended up looking worst. So I usually wear transparent colour. So it is good that this strengthener can give me that glossy shiny look too. I was told to apply 2 coats on my first time and after that a fresh coat every alternate day. After 1 week, I have to remove everything and apply again. I shall see what is the results after that.

Exercise : My Experience with Running Marathons

As I mentioned previously, running marathon is one of my exercise for almost 3 years. Today, I will be blogging about my love for running.

I participated in my first run in 2010. What inspired me to join the run then was not because of myself but rather for my girl. My company organised a charity run and there is this category for 1.2km run for kids where parents can run together with them. I decided to join together with my elder girl who was 3+ years old then. I do not have much recall about that run as I was busy encouraging my gal to finish! To a 3+ years old girl, 1.2km is indeed long. But I am glad she still managed to finish the run with me!

Subsequently, I was attracted by Pink Run (5km) which was organised to raise fund for Breast Cancer Organisation. I got to admit that it was pink colour which attracted me in the first place. :P I managed to get 1 of my friend to run with me. I was very nervous for that first run  as I do not really know what to expect and how long is actually 5km. I didn't really trained for it! That first 5km run was really tough as I had never run more than 2.4km in my life then! But nevertheless, my strong determination told myself I got to reach the finishing point. The first time of reaching the "finishing" point was just overwhelmed and extremely excited! I can never forget the feeling.

So from that day onwards, I was always on lookout for runs! I am also lucky that I have a friend who has been running for quite a while and she will alerted me to runs. However, although I enjoyed running marathons, I dislike training as I didn't have anyone who can run together with me. Besides, I have 2 young gals to take care after work and weekends, it is just impossible to find time to run! I tried to go gym or jog around the park near my place but I was not consistent.

However, the wonderful feeling of participating in marathons didn't stop me to run. So I continue in spite of lack of training and I finally participate in my first 10km run in April 2011. It was a very tough run as I wasn't at all prepared for it. But I was so glad that I completed that run. What more I received my first medal! (The medal is given to all runners who completed the run) The recovery after this run was a long one as my legs and body were aching. I knew it was due to my lack of training.

So I tried to go running at least once a week. I am very grateful to my husband who has been supportive and he helped to take care of my girls when I went for morning run every Sunday. I started to feel my body getting stronger and the timing for my runs also improved! In Dec 2011, I attempted my first 21km and completed it! I was so happy with my achievement!

After my 21km attempt, 10km was a much easier and smooth sailing path for me. By this time, I managed to find a running buddy at my workplace and we jog together every Monday at the sports complex near our office. For this year, I had participated 6 runs so far and I enjoyed each and every run. It gave me a great sense of achievement every time I cross the finishing point and received my medals.

My aim is to complete a 42km marathon one of these days. I'm not ready for it right now. Let give myself another year or so to achieve this.

If you like to start running for pleasure like me, here are some pointers from me. (Please note that this is not meant for expert runners. It is meant for people like me who just enjoyed running with no stress)

1) Start a shorter distance first. Never go into 42km straight! I got a friend who did and she never dare to run in marathons again.

2) You must have some training once a week. Accordingly to my friend who is an expert in running, it is actually best if you can clock in the distance you are running in a marathon per week. For example if you are running 21km, try to clock in 7km, 3 times a week. This is impossible for me as I only got time to train once a week for running. So I am not able to make very good improvement to my running time. But to me, it is fine since like I said I run for pleasure, not for competition or timing.

3) Running is a physical exercise which is rather straining to your body. It is best if you can compliment your running with some stretching exercise like yoga or pilates. I did and I feel much better than before when I just did running every week without any yoga or pilates. It is to prevent injury too as your body will be more flexible after stretching.

4) Just run your best and do not be affected by others. Running together with many people can motivated you to run much faster but do remember to listen to your body. Do not go beyond your limit. I still cannot forget how I saw a man who fainted during one of the runs and subsequently, it was reported in news that he had passed away. Very sad!

5) Find a buddy to share this interest with you Believe me, you will enjoy the run even more. :)

6) Wear comfortable attire and shoes for running. Even 5km is a long distance to for greenhorn runners. You will be thankful if you are comfortably clothed and wear the right shoes. Running Labs is a good place to seek advises for running products. There are experts around to advise you which shoes you should buy for your feet type.

Of course, we all knew to get better deals for sports shoes and such, we always got Queensway Shopping Centre. :)

Motivated to start?

These are the remaining 3 events I will participate in 2012. You can read more about them by using the link.

Review : Hado Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion

I received my sample last week! I was so happy to see this arrived at my mailbox. I had initially thought that it was the milk (moisturisers) that they are giving out but seems like I am wrong. I am happy nevertheless because I didn't get this product last round as I mentioned I got 2 big bottles of toners at home, with both 1/2 used. So I am glad to get the chance to try the sample size. :)

How to get a sample? You just got to like them to the facebook and you can find the request to get sample there. :)

Product : Hado Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion
Price : $22
Found in :Wastons
Reviews : When I first pour out the lotion, I thought it is more like milk! Because unlike most lotion, this lotion is thicker in texture and it is not like water! Great! Because this meant  there is lesser wastage when you pour out the lotion in your hand. (Accordingly to their instruction, you have to pat this product onto your face with your hand, so I am not using a cotton pad here)

As I pat the lotion onto my face, I feel very comfortable. The lotion seems to have a relaxing effect on my face just like its mask as I had mentioned here. Love the feeling. After applying, I look into the mirror and saw my face seems more hydrated! Good product to try! And I seem to becoming Hada Labo's fan! :D

Review : SK II Facial Treatment Cleansing Oil

I have been using the same brand of cleansing oil for years. During my trip to Hong Kong in July, I saw this SKII Cleansing Oil at Duty Free shop at a very good price and decided to grab one to try.

Just tried this for the 2nd time today.

Product : SKII Facial Treatment Cleansing Oil
Price : Less than $60 @ Duty Free Shop at Changi Airport. (Not sure about retail price)

Review : It is very light! I'm surprised how well I can massage the oil onto my face. Unlike my previous one, this cleansing oil do not have any 'fricition" as I massage the oil into my face, making it much easier for me to remove my makeup. The oil feels more like water instead of oil.

Love this product. Now I knew why we just got to trial and error in order to find a good product. If not, how we ever discover something better.

By the way, I was told there are 2 types of makeup remover under SKII, one is gel form and one is oil form. Gel is more for people who doesn't use any eye makeup while oil is for people who used eye makeup. For me, since I used RMK eye makeup remover, it actually made no different which one I used but personally I prefer oil type because I find it more convenient to have pump out the oil into my hand rather than scope out the gel from the bottle. Well, of course, it is your preference at the end of the day. :)

Review : Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Lip Gel

I saw this at Waston while I was searching for hydrating products and could not resist to get this for myself as I got extremely dry lip. No matter what I put on, it always peel especially after a meal or towards end of the day. Most lip products only work for me for a while and after then it is back to square 1.

Product : Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Lip Gel
Price : $10+
Found in : Wastons
Review : I feel comfortable the moment I applied the gel on my lip. It is light just like their other hydrating skin care products. It gives a glossy look on my lip too, just like a clear transparent lip gloss. It seems much easier to apply my lipstick on top of my lip gloss.

I tried it for 1 week+. So far so good! My lip doesn't peel as badly as before and I like the lightness of the gel on my lip. Some lip gel makes my lip feel heavy and tight but not this one. :) I will continue to use it. I do recommend it to friends here to give it a try. :)

Contest : Ikeda Spa – Cozycot’s Favourite Day Spa – Calling all BLOGGERS!

I saw this on Ikeda Spa's Facebook! Picture from Ikeda Spa.

I would love to spa with Ikeda Spa for I have been hearing wonderful comments about Ikeda spa from my good friend. Have always wanted to give them a try but somehow didn't get to do so. It is really good to hear so many recent promotions from them. Add them on facebook (Search for Ikeda Spa) and you will know what I mean. :)

I hope to win this spa to give myself a chance relax after a tiring day at work and to refresh myself before going home to my 2nd "job" - as a mum to my 2 lovely gals and of course not forgetting to write my blog after they go to sleep! :)

Exercise : Pilates at Pilates Flow

I saw this attractive trial class at Pilates Flow on facebook and decided to give it try. I used to do pilates matwork a few years back at a community centre with my friend. After delivery my 2nd child, I stopped altogether due to lack of time. After which, my friend has also quit pilates and somehow I didn't managed to return to it. I used to like it very much but I knew due to my hearing problem, I actually not practising it the right way especially since I do not really know how to make use of the right part to move.

So this is really attractive to have this individual class with an instructor personally at this good price. I make it clear to the school that I have hearing problem and definitely need someone who is willing to work with me. I was assigned to Christina.

All along, I did pilates on mat and this is the first time, I was being exposed to the apparatus where we have to use some stretching machine to assist us in our exercise. I was actually quite "worried" as they look rather difficult to me. Nevertheless I decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, I was able to operate the apparatus with help from Christna of course. Christina is rather patient especially since I was not able to hear her talking all the time. But she did her best to help me. At the end of the session, we have some mutual understanding. I understand her more and she also knew where is my standard. Not too bad for the first time.

After the exercise, my arms and tummy is aching as most part of the exercise depend on these 2 parts. However, I felt I had a very good stretch and 'pull" for my body. Unlike Hot Yoga which is more relaxed and we sweat a lot, Pilates is totally physical and I do not sweat at all in that 1 hour session. As I exercise regularly, I do not feel tired after the session.

A starter package would cost about $500+ for 3 individual lessons and 10 matworks. I can arrange to have lesson again with Christna. The good thing is the studio is extremely near my office, so I could drop by for a session during lunchtime and back. It will be good for me especially next year when I will get really busy with my gals' stuff and may not have time to exercise after work.

I will have to think about it and decide. I had wanted to take more pictures of the studio but I didn't have chance to do so. So only managed to take one of their signboard.

Review : Shu Uemura Hair Shampoo

I first saw this product at Kimage Salon when I went for my rebonding. My first thought is since when Kimage started selling skin care product? I checked with my hair stylist, Yang Yang, only to realise that this is not their facial cleansing oil but a shampoo! It looks exactly the same as their cleansing oil.

Yang Yang joked with me that should someone who used both cleansing oil and shampoo must be really careful not to use the wrong one on face and hair! :D

After being attracted to it by the fact that it is a cleansing oil shampoo and that it can cleanse your hair well and yet not drying it out, I decided to give it a try. My hair is very troublesome. It is oily on scalp and yet dry on surface due to my rebonding and colouring. :S Hard to find a shampoo to "cater" to this need as moisturing shampoo is too rich for my scalp and shampoo meant for oily hair is too dry for my hair!

Product : Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil Shampoo
Price : Ard $60+
Found in : Kimage Salon
Review : I like the feeling of massaging this shampoo into my hair! It feels light and relax unlike some shampoo I used which actually make my hair feels so heavy as if it is pulling down my hair. After washing, I feel my head so light. It also cleansse my oil scalp well and it doesn't dry out my hair surface. Really a good product to try if minus off the expensive cost.

It is hard to find a good shampoo that suits me so if I am still happy with this product, may try again. :)

Review : Fancl Calorie Limit Supplement

I got this about 1 week ago to get rid of my body fats as I feel possibly my body is not able to release the fats through exercise. I am not someone who eat a lot too but of course I do have craving at times for unhealthy food (who doesn't :P) and I love bread a lot!

I tried it for a week. I took it for my heaviest meal, usually lunch or dinner. I only take it once a day. I find after taking this, I do not feel bloated after my meal which I always do especially if I eat too much. My intake of food also slightly lesser but I still do eat my 4 meals daily - Breakfast, Lunch, Tea Break and Dinner.

I am not sure if the weighing machine is faulty or what but I lost 1 kg! I will continue to monitor it.

Friends who are inspired by my experience here, do take note of this. I exericse twice a week, I eat healthy lunch and dinner (such as fish soup, rice completed with 1 meat, 2 vegetables, chicken mayo sandwich). Occasionally, I do go for fast food such as Mos Burger which is my favourite but I seldom order french fries. Usually I order a soup and salad to go with Burger. Yet in spite of these, I have excess body fats. That is why I decided to "seek" help with supplements since I already doing the necccessary and the supplement possibly work faster for me due to this reason. :)

So do not expect wonderful results if you are not exercising and eating unhealthy food. :)

Product : Fancl Calorie Limit
Price : $13 for a pack of 10 (Pre-packed 4 tablets in a small package)

* Note that for this product, there is 2 pacakaging. 1 package is a big package with 30 tablets. Another package is a package with 10 small pre-packed package. It is more costly of course to get the one with small pre-packed package, but it is much more convenient to bring out. So it will be your personal preference. Ask the salegirls more about this.

To use : Eat 4 tablets before your heavy meal. Was told that it is best to take 20 mins before your meal. But sometimes, I forgot so I just take right before my meal. :P

Review : RMK Eye Makeup Remover

I like this product so much that I decided to blog about it even though I only use it once. I had never used eye makeup remover before. All along, I used my cleansing oil to remove my eye makeup. However, recently I find the cleansing oil doesn't seem to be doing a good job to remove my eye liner. Sometimes, after cleaning my face, I still can see "leftover" eye liner on my eyes.

When I tried on RMK eye makeup remover at the workshop, it instantly removed my eyes makeup including my eye liner. I decided to buy it as I can get free gift if I was to top up to certain amount and I was not far from that.

When I tried again at home, really no regret to get this product! Not only, it removed my heavy eye makeup easily, it is also very moisturising for my eyes! My eyes are always very dry and itchy after washing it with cleansing oil. All along I had thought it is because my eyes are too sensitive. However, today after cleaning it off with eye makeup remover, my eyes are not dry or itchy at all! I was so pleased with the result!

As I never use eye makeup remover before, I cannot compare and concluded RMK one is the best. But right now, it is good enough for me :)

Product : RMK Eye Makeup Remover
Price : $33
Review : As above :)

Event : RMK Autumn Winter Makeup Course

I saw this event at Isetan Website and was attracted by their eye colours on their advertisement. Somehow I decided to go for it even though it is going to cost me $100 but the $100 is redeemable for their products. I never try this brand before so decided it is a good chance for me to learn about make up as well as to try out their products.

I had learnt about makeup about 15 years ago when I was asked to try out modelling course (which never work out in the end). I was right that things has changed. Nowadays the makeup is more bold and more stylish compared to 15 years ago when it was more conservative.

The makeup artist to this workshop is from Japan, Masaaki Abe, a guy with extremely fair and nice complexion. He analysed our skin before the start of the workshop and selected our skin tone colour for us. He told me my complexion is good (wow! :P)

Since I already had basic knowledge of makeup, it wasn't too difficult for me to follow. I learnt something new about using of eyelash curler. All along, I thought I should push up the curler to make my eyelashes curl up. Totally wrong! I should be pushing it downward and as you apply mascara after that, the curl will go up automatically. It was right! The moment, I did that, my short eye lashes actually look much much longer. Very pleased with this new finding. I also learnt how to enhance my eyes makeup for my small tiny eyes.

RMK has 6 new eye colours for this season. I selected colour 6, which is a mixed of gold and black as I am a tanned person and I prefer more natural look. There are also 4 new blusher shades for this season. I like the fact that they consist of tone-correcting cream base and a vibrant powder textured hue. I selected colour 2. Like these 2 items so much, that I bought them after the workshop. The makeup artist also agreed that I had selected the right colour for myself.

Not a bad experience with a new brand :)

P/s : Besides eye shadow and blusher, I also bought their mascara which I like a lot as it got a base too (1st time I saw a mascara with a base) and their eye liner as I am not very pleased with my current one and it seems good when I tried it at the workshop.

Review : Habo Labo Hydrating Face Wash and Mask

I happened to chance on this brand during my search online for hydrating skin care and there are so many good reviews about their products that I did a further research on this products.

It had been in Singapore for a while. I always saw it at Wastons but usually I dare not anyhow try new products due to my sensitive skin. So I subscribe to their facebook, read their website and search up on forum to find out more. Finally, I decided I will give this brand a try. I like skin care and cosmetic from Japan.

I made a trip to Wastons yesterday. Stood there for quite a while as there are a few products and I do not want to get the full range yet as I still have many skin care at home, so deciding real hard to see which one I should get to compliment my current skin care products.

In the end, I decided to use their hydrating face wash and mask first. I knew their toner is their top most recommended products but I already have 2 bottles at home, using 1/2 way.

Product 1 : Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Face Wash
Price : $12.90
Found in : Wastons
Review : Great! My face felt very light and refreshed as I massage the cleanser onto my face. After washing, my face is not tight and is really very smooth. Great value product!

Product 2 : Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Face Mask
Price : $21.90 for 4 pcs in a box
Found in : Wastons
Review : The shape of the mask fitted my face exactly. The moment the mask is placed on my face, I felt relaxed and light. After removing the mask, I massage the essence into my face and apply my daily moisturiser. I find that my face can absorb the moisturiser much better now after using the mask. I woke up to extremely smooth and nice complexion. Nice product to try!

I will get other products from this range to try soon. I have registered for free sample for their Super Hyaluronic Acid Milk on their facebook. Hope they will send to me one soon.

Natural Remedies to a Better Health

This blog will be a very long one as it goes long way back to 2001. I am trying to recall what I have done so far. I really hope to share this important thing with everyone.

Since my health suffered in 2001, I have been looking for natural remedies for better health. I was sick of trying out different kind of medicines and drugs. Not only it didn’t make me any better, it is very tiring and sad to suffer side effect of medication, ranging from exhaustion, loss of appetite, moods swing and many more.
My health was in such a bad condition in 2001, that I was suffering from giddy spells every 2 weeks and sometimes I vomited too due to my giddiness. My hearing then was going up and down. One moment I can hear something, next moment, I cannot hear anything. I suffered from severe shoulders pain and I was tired all the time.

One fine day, I think I got enough of such life. I was only in my 20s. I asked myself how much longer I am going to live such a life? It is so hard to live each day when I was suffering like that. I must really thank to my friends and husband who continue to give me support and bore with my mood swing during that period. I believe it wasn’t any easy for them as it was for me.
I have read up a lot of books, research on internet and talk to friends on finding natural remedies to get better. One of the very first things that I tried was tuina, a traditional Chinese massage. It was recommended by my ex-colleague then who heard about my condition. It was one of the best things that happened to me since my health suffered! The therapist massaged away my painful shoulders aches which I had thought it was normal. It was so painful that when I had my first treatment, I was screaming in pain as the therapist rubbed my shoulders. I continued to suffer in pain for the next 2 days and then realised that by the 4th day, I am no longer feeling the pain and instead my shoulders are so relaxed. Guess what? I also didn’t suffer giddy spells during my treatment period. I was told to go back every week until I got better I could go every 2 weeks. However, after going for regular treatment for 1 year plus, I started to feel the therapist is getting a bit “ya ya” (proud). I dislike her saying that my life is dependable on her! Why should I depend on anyone for my health and life?

So after hearing that statement, it wake up more that I should be searching for more ways to help myself rather than depending on her. Besides there is also a limit on how much the treatment can do for a person. I do not like the fact that the treatment can only last me for about 2 weeks and after that I started to feel my shoulder aching again. One thing amazing though is I do not suffer from any giddy spells again.
After reading and researching more on this topic, I came to know about detoxing. There are many ways for detoxing and one of the most popular one is to fast for 3 days to remove the toxins in your body. Noting this is not an easy task and you must be in good health to embark this process.  Having a weak body myself at that point, I dare not embark on this process fully but rather ½ day. I feel my body lighter after fast for 3 nights (meaning I skipped dinner, but drink plenty of water), Detoxing is a long process and I shall share more on this topic fully next round. I had embarked on 3 full days on detoxing after my health got better.

There is one very simple way of detoxing. That is to drink warm water with a dip of lemon juice every morning the very first thing after you wake up. Yes, this simple routine can make a big different to your health. At times when I feel very bloated or have signs that I am having a sore throat, I will just drink a glass of warm water with lemon juice. I always feel better after that.
And the most important thing I feel that make me a much healthier person today is none but exercise! This is something a lot of people have excuses not to do, but believe me, this is something very important.  What you need to do is to find something you enjoy so that exercise can be part of your life, rather than a chore. For me, it took a long time for me to discover my interest. Being a hearing impairment also limited me to certain exercise which required a lot of instructions from instructor as I am not able to follow them well. I also dare not try a personal instructor as it is not easy to find someone who can be patient with me.

So finally, I embarked on running marathons, something that I need not find someone to accompany me or instruction from anyone. Running is tedious physical exercise so I took up hot yoga to compliment my running.  It took me very long to discover Hot Yoga B which has 26 fixed poses so I can follow them easier so long as I master the steps to it.
After starting my exercise, plus looking out for what goes inside my stomach, I am pleased to say I am a very healthy person today. In 2011, I didn’t take a single day of MC! My giddy spells are history and I no longer feel tired. I got so much energy that it was much easier for me to take care of my 2 young gals too.

That is how I came to realise nothing is more important than your health. As they always said “beauty is from within”. How true.
Hope I have introduced you some natural remedies which you can also try out for a healthier you.  I had tried out many others too during my road to recovery, but I am not able to pen them down now as it happened so long ago. However, if I ever recall anything, I will definitely share it.

Rebonding!

I have been doing rebonding for years! My hair is fizzy and half wavy. It is so messy that I do not know what to do with it until rebonding came along. Since I discovered this amazing thing for my hair, I have been doing rebonding once every year. The effect usually last for 6 months or so but for me, I just do it once a year.

My hair stylist, Yang Yang from Kimage (Funan Branch) did a wonderful job each time and my hair never dry out and I can actually maintained the condition for about 9 months or so. I have tried other hair stylists in between, none of them can do rebonding as good as her. She is simply the best one for me. She also keep track of all our appointments, when we do each treatment and she will contact me when it is time for my treatment or when there is promotion going on. She is gems and a life saver to my ugly hair!

Event : Pleats Pleats Joyful Party by Issey Miyake

Date : 2 Sep 2012
Time : 4 to 6pm
Location : Metro Paragon Lobby

I got invited by Metro to this event. There is only 30 seats and I was lucky to get a place. I went with the mind to get a new fragrance as I am finishing my current Chanel one soon. I had been using the same fragrance for the past 2 years and is now itchy for a change.
I reached there at around 4.40pm as I need to send my little girl somewhere else. The MC was giving some quiz which I was not able to catch what it was. So I just went to browse the parfume and tried the new fragrance. First impression, it was very sweet and girlish. I liike the bottle which is very different from their traditional one.

The sale staff who served me was very patient and offered me a lot of free gifts. I forgot to take down her name though. I wanted to get one bottle for my mum too. So in the end, I bought  one 30 ml bottle (for my mum), one 50 ml bottle (for myself) and one more floral parfume which I may give one of my friend as birthday present in Dec. In the end, I got a lot of sample sizes parfume, shower gel and body lotion.
The event is not too bad. They served cocktail and cupcakes. Cupcakes is too sweet for my liking, But I do like their sweet and nice decoration. Very pink and girlish. Something which suits me. :)
